~ She's a 1897 Smith & Anthony from Boston ~

I waited 31 years for a wood cook-stove!  I learned to can on a wood cook-stove when my first child was just one.  A friend taught me how & we used her wood cook-stove.  From that moment on, I wanted one.

With six eyes, warming shelves and a mighty large oven, it's the Queen bee.  I couldn't have asked for a better, bigger stove than the one I purchased.  I purchased it on Ebay of all places...pick up only.  I won't tell you what I paid for it, but it was one heck of a deal.  The man who owned it was in tears when we pulled out of Elkin, N.C.  Let's just say, if I told you what I paid for it, you'd all be kicking yourselves in the butt for not owning one yourself!  With that being said, it was a chance in a lifetime deal so I pounced on it.

I've cooked a Thanksgiving meal on her, fried chicken, made brick fired pizza's, hot-spiced wine for a gathering, bread (it holds 4 loaves at one time), and many a breakfast & dinner.  I wait patiently for the cold days to set in so I can fire her up for cooking.  There is nothing finer than having a slow-cooked meal on this beauty of a stove.  It keeps the meal hot, the plates warm & benefits our heating cost by leaps n' bounds.

I'm keeping this story short, as I have a sweet-heart who just woke up.  I think I'll make him some breakfast on the ol' girl.
